This course was designed for students who like to explore technical concepts. Students will be directly involved in the observation and exploration of technological basics. Unique hands-on activities will introduce simple technology principles through Tech Learning Modules. These hands-on learning activities will give the student a practical understanding of the many priciple that make up technology today. Students can use this course tas a basic exploratory program to get an understandingof thechnology principles found in the world today, as a technical foundation for other school courses, or as a technical career overview. |
This course is designed to assist students preparing for a technical or pre- engineering career choice in some are of technology. Advanced hands-on activities will give a practical understanding of technology through the use of critical thinking, problem solving, decision making and assessments of technological phenomena. Students will apply technical reading, writing, math, computing, and design principles to a unique sequence of learning activities that promotes individual creativity, innovation, team collaboration, and the assesment of technical events in the world. Students will be expected to use and apply technology principles through research and design prototypes, technical lab projects and research papers. | ||||||||||||||||
Applied Technology III | |||||||||||||||||
Upon successful completion of the Engineering Technology II class, students may apply for acceptance into this course. It is designed for students to choose an area of his or her technical interest and do an in depth study of that technology. Hands-on activities designed by each student and monitered by the teacher will help the student address critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and provide a practical method for the application of the technology interest area. Some internship experiences in the industrial community may be initiated. This class is offered as a block during the regular school day. | |||||||||||||||||
